While Mexican fare-centric Sancho’s has been a part of the Gunbarrel community for a while, it has not been offering alcoholic beverages. According to Owner Shawn Camden, however, the restaurant’s liquor license has now been secured.

Sancho’s in Gunbarrel will start serving alcoholic beverages Friday, August 26.

To launch their newly renovated drink program, the team at Sancho’s will be serving fresh House Margaritas, made-for-sommer Strawberry Margaritas, Cervezaritas (beer mixed with margarita), and Upslope beers on tap—including one infused with jalapeño.

Additionally, Camden says they are launching a happy hour Monday-Saturday from 3-6pm. Expect a new roster of tapas-style dishes like Chorizo-Queso Dip and Empanadas Chilanges, a Mexico City inspiration made from fresh masa, shrimp, chorizo, and cheese that’s deep-fried and served with plenty of TLC.

Last (but not least), Sancho’s will start offering live music on Fridays from 5-7pm (beginning September 1), featuring talented duos and trios from the area.

Camden says he hopes the restaurant patio will be open to beer and margarita-sippers in the near future, but is still waiting for proper permits from the city. Stay tuned for updates.
