It’s been around in name for a while, but only recently did Gunbarrel Brewing acquire a permanent location: 7088 Winchester Circle (near Vindication Brewing). After a few months of preparation, the brewery will open to the public in the first quarter of 2017.

Owned by husband-and-wife team Jamie and Marie Fox, Gunbarrel Brewing will offer what Jamie calls “a range of [beers] that are delicate, funky, or bold … inspired by ancient and modern styles.”

The facility with house a 10-barrel brew system, as well as a one-barrel pilot system design for research, experimentation, and development.

When asked why they chose to set up shop in Gunbarrel, Marie says that they wanted to provide a “welcoming environment for guests and coworkers, some place they would truly enjoy spending time.”

Jamie, the head brewer, has an impressive CV; he has trained in brewing technology at brew-centric Seibel Institute in Chicago, and boasts a Ph.D. in neuroscience. Over the past 16 years, he has crafted and honed a catalog of beer recipes that will soon find a home—and audience—at Gunbarrel Brewing.

When the doors finally open in 2017, beer-o-philes of every stripe can look forward to food trucks, live entertainment, and periodic educational events about beer.
